Snowmageddon part two

It's a grey day, with snow gently cascading down outside my office window. Unlike yesterday, when it was coming in sideways. We've had two solid days of blizzardy weather...so the first week of January, 2025 looks a lot like the first week of December, 2024.

Me this morning. It's snowing. Again.

Once again, we've been out two or three times a day clearing the snow from sidewalks and hoiking it off the Honda. That's okay. We're in the snow belt, after all.

Still, the last time we got this much snow was the year after we moved up - 2013. I looked it up and we got 500 centimetres that year.

I'm hoping the squalls stop today, because I'm supposed to be curling in a mini-bonspiel this afternoon. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

In the meantime, here are a few pics from around the farmette. Just to give you a taste. Until next week.

Hagar the maple stump crowned with the white stuff.

Our big Group of Seven pine lost a limb with the weight of all the snow this winter. Big spring cleanup around the farmette.

A lone snow blower making his way along Douglas Street

Garbage and recycling took a beating too.

Still, the farmette house is safe and sound.
